Wes
McLean

Wes McLean resides in Perth-Andover and holds a Bachelor of Arts from St. Thomas University.

An experienced public policy analyst, Mr. McLean worked for the New Brunswick government from 2003 to 2004 before serving as legislative assistant to the Hon. Noël A. Kinsella, then-Leader of the Opposition in the Senate.

In 2006, he joined the Issues Management branch of the Prime Minister’s Office as Special Assistant for Atlantic Canada. He later served as Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Veterans Affairs and Regional Minister for New Brunswick. In 2008, he joined the office of the Honourable Marjory LeBreton, Leader of the Government in the Senate, as Senior Advisor.

He was elected to represent Victoria-Tobique in the September 27, 2010 provincial election.

He is vice-chair of the Standing Committee on Procedure and he is a member of the Legislative Administration Committee.

He was named Legislative Secretary to the Premier, responsible for citizen engagement November 5, 2010. On November 23, he was named Deputy Government House Leader by Premier David Alward.
