Ryan Riordon graduated from Bathurst High School in 2000 before studying at the Nova Scotia Agricultural College, where he earned a BSc in Animal Science and a MSc in Ruminant Animal Nutrition. He worked as a livestock nutritionist for more than two years in Prince Edward Island while completing his masters’ studies.

He was elected to represent Nepisiguit in the September 27, 2010 provincial election. He is a Progressive Conservative Member of the Legislative Assembly.

He is a member of the Legislature’s Standing Committee on Private Bills and the Standing Committee on Public Accounts.

He was named Legislative Secretary to the Minister of Tourism and Parks and Minister of Wellness, Culture and Sport November 5, 2010.

Mr. Riordon enjoys playing the guitar, ultimate Frisbee and other sports, as well as reading.
