Leader's Welcome
Leader’s Message
My name is David Alward and I would like to welcome you to the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick’s official website.
On October 18th, 2008, I had the honour of becoming the Leader of Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick and the Leader of the Official Opposition. I want to take this opportunity to thank the people of the party for placing both their trust and confidence in me.
As Leader of the Official Opposition, I will bring the issues that matter most to New Brunswickers to the floor of the legislature. I am anxious to work with government to find positive solutions to the challenges currently facing our province. I believe all regions of New Brunswick deserve a strong voice to represent their views, whether urban or rural, north or south, Francophone or Anglophone, First Nations or newcomer. I promise to work with you to help build a strong New Brunswick – for all New Brunswickers.
Throughout the rest of this year and into 2009, I look forward to meeting with the people of New Brunswick to help shape the PC party’s policy and platform. This policy will be developed by the people, and for the people. It will be the most grassroots, democratic processes ever to take place in our province. The ideas gathered will be written into the PC party’s policy and platform at our convention in the fall of 2009 along with our next annual general meeting.
There are ten aims and principles that guide the Progressive Conservative Party of New Brunswick. These aims and principles are built on accountability, accessibility, the rights of the individual, creation of prosperity through free enterprise, as well as individual, fiscal and environmental responsibility.
New Brunswick is in need of change, and a new direction. We are here to provide that change and direction by working with you. I believe in all New Brunswickers and I believe that, together, we can build a strong province we can all be proud to call home.
